Job description: Acorn Executive Search is working in partnership with Valleys to Coast Housing to appoint new Board Members.
Valleys to Coast are a not-for-profit organisation who provide and manage 5,835 homes across Bridgend, South Wales. They also provide management services to 722 leasehold flats, have a portfolio of 50 shops and other non-residential properties let on commercial terms, plus manage 1,129 garages.

The Board and its committees have ultimate responsibility for the governance of Valleys to Coast. As a board member, you will demonstrate individual accountability and collective strategic leadership to ensure we effectively manage the organisation for the benefit of our customers, communities and colleagues.
Your collective accountability is to ensure the effective oversight of, plus strategic direction of Valleys to Coast, its internal controls, and the efficient and effective running of the organisation.
By listening and challenging us, you will play a critical role in our governance by ensuring we live to our values, and they are embedded across the organisation.
As a Board Member you will be required but not limited to:
●Develop, approve & monitor Valleys to Coast’s strategy, ensuring it meets the needs of our customers, communities, colleagues and stakeholders;
●Prepare for, and attend, board and sub-committee meetings, the AGM, induction sessions, strategic planning days, workshops and learning and development opportunities as required;
●Demonstrate the highest level of commitment to equality and diversity, sustainability, decarbonisation and working in partnership to achieve common goals;
●Set and uphold the values of Valleys to Coast;
●Ensure the integrity of financial information, approve the annual budget and annual accounts, ensuring appropriate resources are in place in order to deliver strategic objectives;
●Monitor the organisation’s performance, and take timely action if required;
●Provide support, and constructive challenge, to the leadership team, to facilitate the achievement of the corporate objectives.
