Aramark is searching for a Catering/Retail Manager for a Higher Education facility in Edmonton Alberta. Reporting to the Food Service Director , the Catering/Retail manager will oversee the day to day operations of Catering, Retail and Café services. Successful candidates with have 5+year experience in full service catering along with management skills to supervise and direct staff. Additional responsibilities include:
Delivers strong operational performance by executing against Aramark standards and programs, continually monitoring operations, and completing assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal food quality and meal service.
Drives customer satisfaction and maintains client relationships through rounding.
Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and general workplace safety standards.
Supervises, staffs, trains, conducts applicable rounding and manages the performance of the department to include the Retail Supervisors and/or front line staff regarding retail operations, including cash handling, merchandising, food presentation, quality and cost control.
Responsible for purchasing, receiving, scheduling and managing food service activities in compliance with Aramark food service systems.
Develops and implements retail services plan to improve service, quality and profitability of service areas.
Utilize customer feedback to respond to customer needs and to improve retail services.
Supervise catering operations including booking, selecting and costing menu items, pricing, coordinating staff and equipment rental.
Manages and controls resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supply and cost control within budgetary guidelines.


Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management or other related degree (or comparable years of service in the industry).
3 to 5 years of management experience working in food service or hospitality industry with menu planning, guest services and full service catering is preferred
Management experience leading & directing supervisors and hourly staff in front of house and back of house operations, budgeting and cost control experience preferred.
Team building and training, safety, sanitation and quality controls.
Excellent computer skills are essential in this role with previous experience working with Microsoft Office tools and Windows operating systems.
Heavy experience in restaurant style food service is essential in this role.
