The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. The Maintenance technician will have strong skills in maintaining both the electrical and mechanical equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Perform industrial maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic – troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Such as but not limited to Motors, Valves, Rotating Equipment, Material Handling Systems, Hydraulic systems, etc. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Detect faulty operations and report those and any unusual situations to the Maintenance Manager. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Strong understanding of electricity and how it’s applied in industrial applications Other duties as assigned by manager

High school diploma or GED equivalent required with coursework in electrical programming or technology preferred. At least 3 years of industrial experience working on heavy industrial processing equipment. Understand and interacted with fully automated control systems as well as comprehend the relationship to all operating components. Read, understand and work from blueprints, schematics and diagrams. Knowledge of use diagnostic equipment, including manufacturers’ service specifications. Ability to weld with wire and stick systems, operates oxygen/acetylene and plasma cutting equipment, as well as operates a bobcat and forklift. Knowledge of or experience with rendering, HVAC systems, truck and trailer maintenance and repair, and/or pump rebuilding experience is preferred. Moderate electrical skills with an understanding of PLC’s, motor circuits and drive systems is highly desired.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to manipulate office and plant equipment. Ability to lift 50lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100lbs
