Job description: Job Description : Job Description As a Senior Board Design-Validation Engineer, you will be responsible to lead the development, implementation and execution of board design and validation test for FPGA, ASIC and structure ASIC related engineering b Job Description : Job Description As a Senior Board Design-Validation Engineer, you will be responsible to lead the development, implementation and execution of board design and validation test for FPGA, ASIC and structure ASIC related engineering board. Responsible includes: Define PCB design strategy, solution and implementation to product feature set requirement, develop board architecture reference document, provide PCB design direction and drive project development and implement to meet given schedule. Converting feature set requirements from various stakeholders into schematic involving digital and analog circuit designs, schematic capture, component selection and perform relevant and necessary simulations for critical signals and power rails. Provides guidance or reference to layout engineer of assigned functional areas including PCB Circuit, components placement, routing analysis and system design tradeoff. Responsible for board tape out and power on success of the silicon validation boards including the design subsections, feature requirements disposition with the appropriate stakeholders, conducting details schematic design and layout reviews with peer designers, third party vendors and engineering stakeholders. Develop pre-silicon and post-silicon engineering board power-on test plan. Lead internal and outsource validation team on Pre-silicon and Post-silicon board power up activities, analyze test results. Lead and propose systemic debug on issues discovered in validation, identify root cause and propose resolution to be implemented on next release of board hardware. Work in partnership with the platform architect, mechanical, thermal and post-silicon users and as a final gate to ensure tape-out checklists of a board design are robust, meeting engineering stakeholders’ feature set requirements while meeting industry and intel quality standards Working with multiple functional group stakeholders to capture test coverage requirements, develop test methodologies, and enable test capabilities for next generation FPGA, ASIC and structure ASIC engineering boards. Develop manufacturing test plan for factory to perform programming, power-on verification on prototype and volume build boards. Drive continuous improvements in both design tool flows or process simplification and automation to improve efficiency and quality Ensures design meets quality, reliability, and functionality specifications Qualifications Bachelor of Science or a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related discipline Experience in board system or component level electrical validations. Familiar with power and signal integrity measurements. Experience in creating validation test plan, good understanding of test methodology and hands on debug skill in board with FPGA/ASIC/SOC/CPU. Hands on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, Electronic-loads, soldering equipment and etc. Knowledge on Intel Quartus Prime, RTL (Verilog or VHDL) will be a strong plus. Working experience to automate process and routine works with shell scripting languages, Perl/TCL/Python scripting is highly desire. Experience with Cadence Allegro or equivalent design tools and knowledge and in schematic capture, PCB layout experience. Hands on experience in platform or system-board design using intel/Altera FPGA/CPU/SoC devices is highly desirable Design experience in FPGA-based platform architecture and electrical design of FPGA motherboard and daughter cards. This includes integration of system component, electrical, thermal and mechanical inputs.
